Abstract
Home-based women entrepreneurs face unique
challenges, including limited access to resources, social stigmas, and
difficulties in balancing family responsibilities with business operations. In
many developing regions, community support systems have played a pivotal role
in fostering the growth and sustainability of these businesses. This study explores
the role of community support systems—including informal networks, family,
social groups, and local institutions—in the success of home-based women
entrepreneurs. Through qualitative research methods, including interviews and
focus group discussions with women entrepreneurs from rural and urban areas,
the study investigates how community support contributes to entrepreneurial
empowerment, business development, and economic resilience. Findings reveal
that social capital, including mentoring, peer support, and local market
access, is crucial for overcoming barriers such as limited access to finance,
marketing challenges, and social isolation. Furthermore, community-driven
initiatives, such as local cooperative networks, mentorship programs, and women’s
associations, provide a robust support structure for women entrepreneurs. The
study concludes that fostering stronger community networks can significantly
enhance the entrepreneurial success and financial independence of home-based
women entrepreneurs. Policy implications and recommendations for improving
community-based support structures are discussed.
